NORATE TABLET Each tablet contains Norethisterone 5 mg.
Clinical Pharmacology NORATE (Norethisterone) induces secretory changes in an estrogen-primed endometrium. It acts to inhibit the secretion of pituitary gonadotropins that in turn prevent follicular maturation and ovulation. On a weight basis, it is twice as potent as Norethisterone. Indications: Norate is indicated for the treatment of secondary amenorrhea, endometriosis, and abnormal uterine bleeding due to hormonal imbalance in the absence of organic pathology, such as submucous fibroids or uterine cancer.
Dosage:

Seconday Amenorrhoea: NORATE is indiacted 1 t.i..d. for 5 days. Withdrawal bleeding may occur within 3-7 days provided estrogen priming is there.

Endometriosis: NORATE is advocated from 5th Day of menstruation 1 b.d. for 3-6 months time. Weather therapy is to be continued beyond this period is decided by clinician. If spotting or breakthrough bleeding occurs, NORATE may be increased from 1 b.d. to 1 t.i.d. till the control of the symptoms. Then same dosage may be continued.

D.U.B.: when patient comes with bleeding, NORATE 1 t.i.d. is recommended for 10 days. Withdrawal bleeding will occur within 2-5 days. Counting that day as first day, NORATE is recommended from19th day to 26 days 1 b.d. for 2-3 cycles to avoid recurrence.

Timing of menstruation: NORATE is recommended 3 days before expected date of menstruation one tablet t.i.d for a maximum of 14 Days.
